Privacy Policy
Hartstead Technologies LLC built Retire AI Coach to help people understand retirement planning information. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Information stored on your device
The app stores retirement inputs, preferences, settings, and a randomly generated installation identifier on your device. The identifier supports service security and rate limiting; it is not an advertising identifier. You can remove locally stored app information using the app’s reset controls or by deleting the app.
Information processed when you use James
Before James sends information, the app asks for your permission and identifies the information and service providers involved. If you choose Allow, the app may send your question and a randomly generated installation identifier to Hartstead Technologies LLC’s service, operated through Cloudflare, and to OpenAI to generate an answer or spoken response. Your question may contain information you choose to type, including financial figures. Saved plan totals are included automatically only when you turn on Plan Summary after reviewing its preview. Optional saved memories are included automatically only when both Plan Summary and Optional memory are on. Do not place passwords, bank credentials, Social Security numbers, or full account numbers in a question.
Service records and retention
- The service does not place your question or financial figures in application logs.
- Limited operational totals—such as request counts, service tier, token counts, cache use, and estimated service cost—may be retained by month. These totals do not contain your question, financial figures, or installation identifier.
- The service does not place generated answers to user questions in its shared response cache.
- Cloudflare and OpenAI process information under their applicable service terms and privacy commitments.
Connected financial accounts
Connections to financial institutions are disabled in the current App Store version. The app does not receive bank usernames or passwords.
How information is used
Information is used to provide and personalize app functionality, generate responses, protect the service from abuse, maintain reliability, and measure limited operational usage. Hartstead does not sell personal information and does not use app information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Sharing
Information is shared only with Cloudflare and OpenAI to operate the features described above, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. Hartstead requires its service providers to protect information consistently with their contractual and privacy commitments and with protections appropriate to the information processed. Information is not shared with data brokers.
Your choices
You may choose Not Now when the app asks for AI-data permission and continue using local planning tools. If you allow James to use Cloudflare and OpenAI, you may withdraw that permission later in Settings; no new James question or plan figures will be sent unless you allow the disclosure again. You may reset local app information in the app. For access, correction, or deletion questions, email contact@hartsteadtechnologies.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request.
Children
Retire AI Coach is a general retirement-education app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
